"The
Jar Of Hope"
"She"
placed within a sealed tight jar
a cut-out heart for every pain
every time her heart was hurt
and "stomped on" once again...
She used colors of a bright rainbow
(because that's what God does see)
and then she sealed it right back up
so that not one pain could dare fall free.
This jar does represent "her" heart
the one that has been closed tight so many years
it is the heart of a sweet young girl
who often "drowned" in her own tears.
This little girl was not like most
for she had many fears and secrets too
she could not be like other girls
or do the things that they could do.
For many years she hid her pain
but, God knew all along
He was right there crying with her
He was the one who kept her strong.
As years went by, and the young girl grew
she often doubted she had worth
praying to the God she knew
to take her from this earth.
God only knows how she survived
but she is all grown up today
yet, inside her lives a little girl
who never learned to play.
The little girl still guards her heart
while the grown up woman goes on with life
with no good memories of her childhood
which so sadly passed her by.
When she looks into this jar today
and she sees all the hearts she placed inside
she still does not want to open it
she would rather run and hide.
She tries to give the jar to God
for He sees things from a brighter scope
and He is the only one who can...
turn every heart there into hope.
Perhaps, one day she can let go
let go... and LET GOD do
everything He promised her
(everything He promised me and you.)
As survivors of childhood abuse
I guess we all have these same fears
and, while we bottle up our hearts...
He bottles all our tears!
