In a
small town in Georgia, where time seems to stand still. And the
smell of magnolia blossoms fills the air. 16 year old Margo
white sat on the front porch Swing, of her grandmother Mary
king's aging plantation home. Her grandmother sat in a
rocking chair next to her. It was a warm summer afternoon, and
as they sat there Margo said," Grandma I can’t believe
it is so boring here, there is no one around here my age, and no shopping malls
for miles. What do folks do around here?
“Grandma said,” well there is plenty to do, there is fishing
and a lot of nature trails to walk down. Most of the young folks around here like to go
swimming in
the creek. As far as young folks your age, there are a few;
Mr. and Mrs. Townsend
down the road have a grandson your age. He comes and
spends the summer with them. He got here last weekend, his name is
Daniel. I think the two of you would get along just
fine. And he is quite a good looking fella too, “said grandma
and then she kind of giggled. Margo laughed and said," Grandma", I
think grandpa better keep an eye on you. Then they both
laughed. “Well, said Margo, I think I will go call mom
and my
friend misty and see what they are up to.” Ok, said grandma,
when you get through you can help me shell some peas for supper. “Ok” said Margo and off she went.
