This Easter Day

I arose from the grave, a long ago Easter day.
to go to my father and prepare you the way.

keep your faith in me and don't let it stray.
and I'll return to get you, my child someday.

let your heart be humble, don't give in to defeat.
and someday you'll stroll, down heaven streets.

I took on the cross, for your burdens to bare,
I did this for you, to show you I care

as they nailed me to, that old wooden tree.
I knew one day in heaven. your faces I'd see.

so this Easter day, love one another
your children of god, your sisters and brothers.

one day real soon, in the twinkling of an eye.
I'll come take you away, to your home in the sky.
